The siblings and their father ( bass ) had their first appearances in the vicinity of their hometown. Inspired by rock bands of the 1970s and 80s such as Alice Cooper , Van Halen and Cinderella , Halestorm released the album Forecast for the Future in 1997 . Numerous other appearances and publications followed. In 2003 guitarist Joe Hottinger joined the band. Bassist Josh Smith has been part of the line-up since June 2004.

In April 2006 the live EP One & Done was released . The debut album Halestorm was released in the US on April 28, 2009 and reached number 40 on the US charts.
