This Is Your Life is a tribute album for the late Black Sabbath , Rainbow and Dio singer Ronnie James Dio . The album was initiated by his widow, Wendy Dio . Proceeds from this album will go to Dios Cancer Foundation Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund . Mainly old companions and friends of Dio are involved in this album. Most of them are new recordings, but some songs, such as Doro Pesch's version of Egypt (The Chains Are On) , have been released before. The album was released worldwide on April 1st, 2014 via Rhino Records. The title track of DIO This Is Your Life was released in 1996 on the 7th studio album Angry Machines .

In an article on the Blabbermouth.net site , Ian Gillan ( Deep Purple ), Chris Jericho ( Fozzy ), Sebastian Bach (Ex- Skid Row ) and Dave Grohl (Ex- Nirvana , Foo Fighters ) were named as guests . It is not known whether and how they are involved in the album.
Recordings
Almost all songs are newly recorded. However, the cover of The Mob Rules by Adrenaline Mob already appeared on their EP Covertà in 2013. The Killswitch Engage cover by Holy Diver first appeared on the sampler High Voltage !: A Brief History of Rock for Kerrang !, later on As Daylight dies . The Doro version of Egypt is also a recorded song that appeared on an older Dio cover CD. The Japanese bonus track Heaven And Hell by Stryper first appeared on their cover album The Covering in 2011 .

Tenacious D in 2015 won a Grammy in the category " Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance " for The Last In Line , also for the Neon Knights of anthrax was nominated.
Trivia
Glenn Hughes sang the song Catch the Rainbow at Ronnie James Dio's funeral on May 30, 2010.
