Howard Jones (singer, 1970)
Howard Jones (born July 20, 1970 in Columbus ) is an American singer. He is a member of the band Light the Torch and previously sang in the bands Blood Has Been Shed and Killswitch Engage .
Career
Jones started his career with the mathcore band Blood Has Been Shed, founded in 1997 , with which he released three albums. In 2002 Jones became the singer of the band Killswitch Engage after their singer Jesse Leach left the band due to depression . With Killswitch Engage Howard Jones released the three studio albums The End of Heartache , As Daylight Dies and Killswitch Engage as well as the DVD (Set This) World Ablaze . The first two albums and the DVD were each awarded a gold record in the United States . The song The End of Heartache was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category, but the award went to Motörhead . In 2012, Howard Jones left Killswitch Engage for health reasons. In the same year Howard Jones founded the band Devil You Know . This band released two studio albums before the band changed their name to Light the Torch in 2017.
In 2005, Howard Jones took part in the Roadrunner United project , with which the record label Roadrunner Records celebrated its 25th anniversary. Jones sang the song The Dagger . In addition, Howard Jones has appeared several times as a guest singer for bands like Every Time I Die , Throwdown , 36 Crazyfists , Believer , Asking Alexandria , Within Temptation and his old band Killswitch Engage. For a while he worked as a manager for bands like Twelve Tribes and Bury Your Dead . Howard Jones has diabetes mellitus and was in a coma in 2013 because of the illness . In addition, he suffered from anxiety disorders and depression for many years . In 2009 he was about suicide to commit.
