history
Devil You Know
In 2012, Australian drummer John Sankey ( Devolved , Divine Heresy , Fear Factory ) and guitarist Francesco Artusato ( All Shall Perish ) started jamming and writing music together . After they had written the first songs, they were looking for a singer. Through a mutual friend, the two musicians sent some demo recordings to the former Killswitch Engage singer Howard Jones . He was very interested in the material and joined the band at the end of 2012, which eventually called itself Devil You Know. In an interview, Jones stated that the band name describes himself:
“Sometimes I'm the worst person in the world. I am just a terrible person. I always strive to be a better person, but sometimes I am terrible. That's how I came up with the band name. "
In spring 2013 the band recorded their debut album with producer Logan Mader , which was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris . At the end of October 2013, Devil You Know were signed by Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The band was completed by guitarist Roy Lev-Ari and bassist Ryan Wombacher ( Bleeding Through ). The band played their first concert in Anaheim on February 15, 2014 , before taking part in the Australian Soundwave Festival tour. The debut album The Beauty of Destruction was released on April 25, 2014. At the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2014, Devil You Know was recognized as the best new band. The band They Bleed Red's second studio album was released on November 6, 2015.
Light the torch
A year later, Roy Lev-Ari and John Sankey left the band, which then announced the name change in July 2017 and announced a new studio album for the end of 2017. In March 2018 the album Revival was released , which was nominated at the Metal Hammer Awards 2018 in the category Best Debut Album. However, the award went to the band Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons .
