Craig Goldy (born November 6, 1961 in La Mesa , California , USA ) was guitarist for the bands Vengeance , Rough Cutt , Giuffria and a project called Driver, before joining the heavy metal band Dio , the solo band of Ronnie James Dio .

When Dio's first guitarist Vivian Campbell left the band in 1986, Goldy was invited to sessions in mid-March 1986 and hired without further ado, but soon afterwards turned his back on the band and released a few solo albums with only moderate success.

In 2000 he joined Dio for the second time, the album Magica resulted from the short collaboration with Dio. This time it was family obligations that forced him to leave the band. He was replaced by Doug Aldrich in February 2002 . In the spring of 2003 Goldy made another comeback with Dio, where he was guitarist until the band split up in 2010 after the death of Ronnie James Dio. Since 2008 he has also been a guest guitarist for the Welsh hard rock band Budgie . He has been with the Dio Disciples since 2011 .

Goldy's guitar playing was partly inspired by the music of Ritchie Blackmore .
