Holy Diver is the first album by the American hard rock / heavy metal band Dio .
history
Was published Holy Diver on May 25, 1983. For many critics, it is still Dios best album and a classic in the history of heavy metal. The album was awarded a gold record in the United States on September 12, 1984 . Platinum followed on March 21, 1989 .
The album was remastered and re-released in 2005 by Rock Candy Records . This version also features an interview with Ronnie James Dio . On tracks 10–19 he answers various questions about the album. The questions are not asked during the interview. However, they can be found in printed form in the CD booklet . The singles' B-sides, mostly live recordings, are still not available on CD. An exception is a limited edition from Japan.
