Hartmann Goertz

Hartmann Goertz (born September 25, 1907 in Nakel an der Netze , † 1991 ) was a German publisher, essayist, radio play author and literary translator.

life and work

Goertz studied in Tübingen, Paris, Vienna, Berlin and finally in Greifswald, where he in 1931 on Rainer Maria Rilke and France doctorate was. From 1932 to 1937 Goertz was an editor at S. Fischer Verlag in Berlin , from 1938 to 1948 chief editor at Wolfgang Krüger Verlag in Hamburg . Together with Wolfgang Krüger and Heinrich Scheffler , he ran the Aldus publishing house (Diez an der Lahn) from 1947 to 1949 . From 1949 he was head of the audio dramaturgy at Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main .

He also made a name for himself as a publisher of German folk art such as kitchen songs and nursery rhymes. He also put together a selection of his “Songs from the Kitchen” for a series of records, for which he wrote the text spoken by Eduard Marks . He also provided the idea and wrote the text for another record based on one of his books ( Songs from the Gazebo ). Uwe Friedrichsen acted as speaker on this .

Goertz lived with his wife in Gstadt am Chiemsee .
