Michele Stratico
Giuseppe Michele Stratico , too: Josip Mihovil Stratiko, (* 1728 in Zadar ; † 31 January 1783 in Sanguinetto ) was from Croatia originating Italian violinist , composer and music theorist of the pre-classical period .
Live and act
Michele Stratico was trained in Padua and belonged to the circle of musicians around Giuseppe Tartini . Stratico, who was a trained lawyer, was completely forgotten until the University of Berkeley discovered more than 280 manuscripts from his pen between 1958 and 1961.
Stratico turned out to be a student of Tartini and left a total of around 300 works for strings. The only works by Stratico that were printed during his lifetime were his six violin sonatas, Op. 1, around 1763. Their ornamentation is similar to Tartini.
