Gstadt am Chiemsee (officially: Gstadt a.Chiemsee ) is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim .

geography

Geographical location

The main town of the same name is located around ten kilometers from Prien am Chiemsee , twelve kilometers from Bad Endorf , 26 km from Rosenheim , 32 km from Wasserburg am Inn and 24 km from Traunstein . To Bundesautobahn 8 (junction Bernau am Chiemsee ) is 15 km, the nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee. Gstadt has an important landing stage for numerous Chiemsee ships , for example they run regularly to Herrenchiemsee and Frauenchiemsee . The place is connected to the regional traffic of Upper Bavaria by the bus route 9520 . The line connects Gstadt am Chiemsee with Prien am Chiemsee, Rimsting , Breitbrunn am Chiemsee , Seebruck , Chieming and Traunstein.

The Grundlose See is also located in the municipality .

history

Since its foundation, the community has belonged to the Frauenchiemsee Monastery, which was immediately part of the Reich . From the middle of the 18th century until the secularization of 1803, Gstadt was an independent Hofmark of the monastery and then came under Bavarian administration. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818, the place became an independent political municipality.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 1,060 to 1,192 by 132 inhabitants or by 12.5%.

The community is a member of the Breitbrunn am Chiemsee administrative association . Gollenshausen and Gstadt as well as the hamlets and deserted areas Aich, Aiglsbuch, Aisching , Ed, Lienzing, Lienzinger Moos, Loiberting, Mitterndorf, Plötzing, Preinersdorf, Söll, Schalchen and Weingarten.
