history

Until the church is planted

There is a collection of three burial mounds near Reichertsham . Their exact age is not known, but they are likely from the Hallstatt Period .

The place Babensham was first mentioned as Papinesheimon around 924. For a long time the place belonged to the district court district of Kling .

Penzing, which is now part of Babensham, was the seat of a closed Hofmark of the Counts of Arco . Babensham became an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818.

Incorporations

On the occasion of the regional reform , the previously independent municipality of Penzing was incorporated on July 1, 1970. On January 1, 1971, Schambach was added. Kling (with Loibersdorf incorporated in 1857 and Titlmoos incorporated on April 1, 1971) followed on January 1, 1980. From May 1978 to December 1979, the Eiselfing administrative community with the member communities Babensham, Kling and Eiselfing existed.

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 2,392 to 3,136 by 744 inhabitants or by 31.1%.
