history

Until the church is formed

Individual settlements arose during Roman times, and Feilnbach was first mentioned in a document in 980 as "Fulinpah", which is derived from "lazy brook" and describes a sluggish or slowly flowing body of water. In contrast, there is the “sudden stream”, today's Jenbach, which flows wildly and impetuously and to which a district owes its name. The municipality extends from the foothills of the Wendelstein massif far into the felt and moorland area of the Rosenheim basin and covers around 5800 ha.

Feilnbach became an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818.

19th and 20th centuries

From May 27, 1897 to 1973, the place was the end point of the Bad Aibling – Feilnbach local railway .

On January 1, 1966, the communities Feilnbach and Wiechs were merged to form the new community Feilnbach-Wiechs, whose name was changed to Feilnbach on December 28, 1971. Au bei Bad Aibling was incorporated into the municipality on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform. Dettendorf followed on February 1, 1972. On October 22, 1973, the community received the addition of bath . Finally, on May 1, 1978, the community Litzldorf was incorporated into Bad Feilnbach.

On July 1, 1972, Feilnbach , which had previously belonged to the Bad Aibling district, was added to the Rosenheim district.

coat of arms

The blazon reads:

“In red over a continuous silver wave beam, a silver church with a round silver tower on the right and an attached round corner tower on the left; on the golden roofs of the towers and the nave a golden cross with a golden knob. "

The silver wave bar is a symbol for Bach and stands for the main town of Feilnbach, this name was derived from the "lazy Bach" (Fulinpah). The silver church is originally taken from the coat of arms of the nobles of Diepertskirchen . These noblemen had a seat in Lippertskirchen from the beginning of the 11th to the end of the 15th century. The coat of arms was adopted by the municipality of Feilnbach in 1957 and changed in 1966. In 1973 the community was awarded the title “Bad” and has been called Bad Feilnbach ever since. The place thus underlines its importance as a mud spa and natural healing village.
