description

The farming village, which is listed as an ensemble, is located on a slope, south of the Aiblinger high moor in a similarly picturesque situation between orchards as the neighboring Altofing . The village settlement is of medieval origin, the nine old properties, loosely arranged in an east-west direction, are single-ridge structures of the alpine type; the lower courtyards are impressively staggered one behind the other. These are 18th-century courtyards with wooden upper floors and 19th-century courtyards with plastered living quarters and balconies. The upper, smaller courtyards and a new residential building are on both sides of the stream. The individual properties include Zuhäuser and Stadl.

The village became famous when the painters Wilhelm Leibl and Johann Sperl settled in the Kolberhof in Kutterling in 1892 (No. 22) and were inspired by the picturesque character of the place and the area and how they interacted with the locals. Sperl's studio was located in the Schneidergütl (No. 26) for some time.
