Home evening
As Heimatabend evening are performances with typical regional and traditional songs, dances and theatrical performances referred. They are mainly organized in regions frequented by tourists in order to convey regional customs , traditions and culture to the visitors in an entertaining, idealized form .
Heimat Evenings are mostly performed by amateur musicians and actors, but also by professional actors. Individual parts of the program are often contested by members of music associations and traditional costume associations . The performances take place in local festival or community halls. The musical program consists of folk music , folk songs and folk music , accompanied by folk dances , depending on the direction of the home evening . It can be supplemented by game scenes and humorous interludes. Typical components of alpine folklore evenings include Dirndlrahn, Schuhplattler , Goaßlschnalzen , Aperschnalzen , but also tree saws and chopping wood with musical accompaniment.
In addition to traditional folk evenings, more and more events are establishing themselves that appeal to the culture of younger people and consist of modern, new folk music as well as political , cabaret , socially critical and satirical performances with a regional reference. Examples of this direction are events organized by the Poxrucker Sisters , Rhöner Säuwäntzt , Helmut Schleichs and Martin Wanglers .
