history
Until the church is planted
Pfaffing was first mentioned in a document in 1166. Attel Abbey and Rott Abbey had extensive possessions here until the secularization of 1803. Pfaffing became an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria after 1803.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1882, the previously independent community of Springlbach was incorporated. On January 1, 1970, Farrach and Rettenbach were added.
On May 1, 1978, the neighboring municipality of Albaching was dissolved and incorporated into the municipality of Pfaffing. After years of resistance and numerous negotiations, Albaching regained its independence on January 1, 1994 and has since formed an administrative partnership with the Pfaffing community.
Population development
Between 1988 and 2018 the population increased slightly from 4,180 to 4,232 by 52 inhabitants or 1.2% - although the spin-off of the former district of Albaching in 1994 must be taken into account.
coat of arms
Pfaffing's municipal coat of arms is split; in front in silver three vertical, continuous blue diamonds, in the back divided by black and silver with a lion in confused colors.
The three blue diamonds come from the coat of arms of the Attel monastery, the lion from that of the Rott monastery. The municipal coat of arms thus ties in with the history of the place.
economy
Established businesses
In the district Forsting the private Brewery is Good Forsting e. G., which was founded in 1871 and converted into a cooperative brewery in 1916.

The federal highway 304 leads through the district of Forsting .
In this district there is also a stop on the Grafing – Wasserburg railway line , some of whose trains run every hour to Munich . In contrast to the bus stops in the municipality, the station is integrated into the Munich transport and tariff association .
Pfaffing is connected to the regional traffic of Upper Bavaria by three bus routes . Lines 9412, 9416 and 9421 have connections to Wasserburg am Inn , Edling , Rosenheim , Rott am Inn , Ramerberg , Grafing , Ebersberg and Forsting.
