Klaus Meine
Klaus Meine (born May 25, 1948 in Hanover ) is the singer of the hard rock formation Scorpions and has played a key role in writing the lyrics and has also been involved in songwriting since the late 1980s .
Life
Mine went to elementary school in Langenhagen and then completed an apprenticeship as a decorator . After his apprenticeship, he worked as a delivery driver.
Klaus Meine first sang with the Hanoverian bands "Mushrooms" and "Copernicus". Since 1969 he has formed the head of the band Scorpions together with Rudolf Schenker . He also wrote and composed the band's most commercially successful song: Wind of Change , which was number one in eleven European charts in 1991. This song was also the most successful single worldwide in the same year. According to Klaus Meine, this song would never have come about without the “tremendous experience at the great Moscow Music Peace Festival in Moscow in 1989”, when the Scorpions sang their songs in front of “100,000 people in the stadium under the Olympic flame, with the Russian audience”. and in English too. ”You can find“ Wind of Change ”on the Scorpions album Crazy World . Klaus Meine is mainly responsible for the band's lyrics. For Bonnie Tyler he wrote the lyrics for the song You're The One , which appeared on her album Free Spirit in 1995 ; Rudolf Schenker composed the song, the Scorpions released the song a year later under the changed title Are You The One? in another version on their album Pure Instinct .
Klaus Meine has been married to his wife Gaby since 1977, and they have a son together. You have lived in Bissendorf in Wedemark since 1982 . In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung on April 27, 2014, Meine said about his homeland: “ Hanover is simply a cool city”. When asked whether the most successful German rock band had already planned a move, Meine said that there were such plans in the 80s. Ultimately, however, the band didn't dare move to the USA because of their families. Hanover is a good retreat, where “I can get back to earth from all the rock'n'roll madness between private jets and bodyguards”.

In 1981 his voice failed while recording the Scorpions album Blackout . Restoring full vocal power required two operations and a ten-month break from singing.
In the early 1990s, Klaus Meine advertised the Wedemärker audio company Sennheiser , with which the Scorpions have been working for many years.

The guitar maker Boris Dommenget built some signature guitars exclusively for Klaus Meine, which he plays live on the instrumental title Coast to Coast from the Lovedrive album and on his solo song Follow your Heart from the MTV Unplugged Project 2013 in Athens. In October 2019 a newly described species of the giant crab spider (Sparassidae) was named in honor of Klaus Meine and was given the scientific name Extraordinarius klausmeinei .
