Face the Heat is the twelfth studio album by the German hard rock band Scorpions , which was released in autumn 1993. This time the producer acted alongside the band Bruce Fairbairn , who produced albums for Bon Jovi ( New Jersey , 1988) and AC / DC ( The Razors Edge , 1990) , among others . The band actually wanted Fairbairn to be the producer of Crazy World (1990), but this had to be canceled at this point due to time constraints.

The album was nowhere near to match the success of Crazy World . In Germany it reached number 4 in the charts, number 24 in the US Billboard charts and number 51 in the UK charts. More than four million copies of the album have been sold to date.
Single releases
The first single on the album was the opener Alien Nation with the songs Unholy Alliance and Rubber Fucker and a cut version of the title as the B-side. The second single was No Pain No Gain , which was released together with the song Taxman Woman and a special version of the main song in collaboration with the then national soccer team. The third single was the ballad Under the Same Sun, along with the songs Ship of Fools and Partners in Crime, as well as a live recording of the song Hit Between the Eyes and Woman as the last single on the album, along with a shorter version of the song and live recordings the songs Under the Same Sun and Alien Nation , which were recorded in Munich.
Other song versions and live recordings
For the single release of the song No Pain No Gain , a version of the song appeared on the single in which the German national soccer team sings the chorus of the song. The song Under the Same Sun was presented as an acoustic version for the album Acoustica in 2001 . This version can only be found on the DVD and not on the accompanying album.
The single Woman contains the live recordings of the tracks Under the Same Sun and Alien Nation as B-side . The 1995 album Live Bites includes live recordings of the songs No Pain, No Gain and Alien Nation .
