Ken Taylor
Kenneth Taylor-King (born April 21, 1952 in London ) is a German bass player .
Life
Taylor's parents are from Jamaica. Since the age of 14 he worked in the studio and on stage for well-known artists, including John Mayall , Jelly Bread , Jimmy Cliff , Desmond Dekker , Christine McVie , Prince Buster or Ashton, Gardner & Dyke . After making a name for himself through various studio work in London in the 1970s, Taylor came to Germany to work with producers such as Giorgio Moroder and Frank Farian . In 1978 he played with Supermax . A year later he founded the band Tokyo in Frankfurt . Ken Taylor worked on tours with Keb 'Mo' , Noa and Sonny Landreth and Wolfgang Niedecken, among others . Studio productions, he also stood musicians such as Brian May ( Another World ), Bruce Springsteen , Robert Palmer , Sally Oldfield , Rio Reiser , Stephan Remmler , Smokie , Alphaville , Udo Lindenberg , Xavier Naidoo , Sabrina Setlur and the Scorpions with the Berlin Philharmonic aside . Since 1993 he has been a permanent member of the Peter Maffay Band in all live and studio productions .
Ken Taylor has had his own signature electric bass KT Basic from Sandberg Guitars from Braunschweig since 1993, as well as several acoustic basses from the KTSM series from Ortega Guitars. Ken Taylor uses D'Addario strings .
Ken Taylor is also active as a songwriter and composer. Taylor's son Leon Taylor is also a musician and took part in the German preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo in 2010 .
