The German company Sandberg Guitars is a musical instrument manufacturing company from Braunschweig that manufactures electric basses and guitars .

Company history

Sandberg Guitars was founded in 1986 by Holger Stonjek and his friend Gerd Gorzelke. When it was founded, Holger Stonjek was training to be a piano maker at the Braunschweig-based company Wilhelm Schimmel Pianofortefabrik GmbH . The Sandberg company took its name from its first workshop address at Am Sandberg in Ehmen .

Sandberg is best known for eight different series of electric basses:

  • Basic series
  • Classic series
  • California T-series
  • California V-series
  • Custom series
  • Electra series
  • Panther series
  • Terrabass

Since the spring of 2010, the Sandberg company has also been selling mass-produced electric guitar models:

  • California ST-H-series
  • California ST-S-series
  • California DC series
  • Florence series

The California electric guitar series are based on a further developed form of the Fender Stratocaster . In addition to the standard program, a custom shop produces instruments (electric guitars and electric basses) that are individually manufactured according to customer requirements.
