Landsweiler is a district of Lebach in the Saarlouis district in Saarland . Until the end of 1973 "Landsweiler bei Lebach" was an independent municipality.

history

According to a document from 1614, Landsweiler belonged together with Lebach and Niedersaubach to a so-called four - rule . Kurtrier , the Duchy of Lorraine (from 1787 then the Duchy of Palatinate-Zweibrücken ) and the Lords of Hagen zur Motten held two-seventh shares each of the rights to market operations and taxes ; the abbess von Fraulautern held a seventh .

On January 20, 1969 took place in the location ammunition defeat  461/1 in Landsweiler the so-called soldiers murder of Lebach , in which four soldiers of the Paratrooper Battalion 261 who were guarding the facility, were murdered.

As part of the regional and administrative reform in Saarland , the previously independent municipality "Landsweiler bei Lebach" was assigned to the municipality of Lebach on January 1, 1974.

Facilities

At local facilities, Landsweiler has the Landsweiler volunteer fire brigade , a multi-purpose hall, a kindergarten, a Catholic Church of St. Donatus and a primary school. The parish festival and a Christmas market are held annually.
