The Farin Urlaub Racing Team (short: FURT ) is a German rock band around the German singer and guitarist Farin Urlaub and was founded in 2002.

history

Originally, Farin Urlaub formed , who in interviews after the release of his first solo album, Endlich Urlaub! , first stated not to plan a tour, a backing band for a full playback performance on Top of the Pops , which included guitarist Nessie and drummer Rachel. But after this gig was connected with a lot of fun, Urlaub decided to go on tour and founded the "Farin Urlaub Racing Team", whose members he gathered together based on personal experiences or tips from friends.

As a live band, FURT Urlaub accompanied you to Rock am Ring , the Taubertal Festival and the Forestglade in 2002 . Since the album The Truth About Lies (2008), FURT has also appeared on vacation solo studio albums as an independent band. In 2009 the Farin Urlaub Racing Team also performed at Das Fest in Karlsruhe. The - mostly female - line-up changed in part, but always included the male brass section of the Busters . Urlaub itself describes the band as "an orchestra full of dynamite".

On May 15, 2010, the concert video Make it Look Like an Accident was released as a free download on the band's website. The recording was planned as a real concert DVD, but the reworked audio tracks were lost during the copying process, so that only the rough cut was left.

From October 5 to October 11, 2014, FURT gave a club tour ( FURTour ) through cities with the ending -furt. The tour was supposed to start in Steinfurt , but was moved to Emsdetten at short notice . Then it went to Frankfurt an der Oder , Frankfurt am Main , Erfurt , Schweinfurt and Klagenfurt . At the FURTour in Klagenfurt, the farewell to Celina Bostic was announced.

The album Faszination Weltraum was released on October 17, 2014 .

In 2015 the band went on tour again with a partly new line-up. During the tour called There is no danger to the public! They played at the Hurricane Festival and the Gurtenfestival , Rock'n'Heim , Taubertal and Chiemsee Reggae Summer festivals , among others .
