Forestglade

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Forestglade Festival was a rock festival that took place in Wiesen (Burgenland) in Austria with an international cast. The music festival initiated in 1995 by "Festival Pope" Franz Bogner has meanwhile developed into the most popular alternative festival in Austria. Stars like Bush , Die Toten Hosen , Nine Inch Nails , Faithless , Rammstein , Marilyn Manson etc. appeared here.

In 2005 the Forestglade celebrated its 10th anniversary.

In 2004, Placebo , Turbonegro , Iggy Pop & The Stooges , Cypress Hill , Kosheen , The (International) Noise Conspiracy , Die Sportfreunde Stiller , Wir sind Helden and Tomte performed .

In 2005 the Forestglade took place from July 15th to 17th. Were represented, among others, Garbage , New Model Army , Starsailor , Adam Green , Sum 41 , Fettes Brot , Mando Diao , Seeed , Tocotronic , Therapy? , The Hives , The Frames .

However, it has lost its reputation as Austria's festival in recent years due to competition with festivals such as Nova Rock , Frequency , Nuke , but also the Two Days a Week , which also takes place on the Wiesengelände . In general, Wiesen had the problem of limited space in competition with other festivals, but offered a manageable framework and a level of comfort that is seldom found in larger festival venues.

The Forestglade 2006 had to be canceled the day before due to severe storms.

In 2007 there was no organizer who wanted to risk competing with megafestivals such as Nova Rock and Frequency and so for the first time since its founding in 1995 there was no Forestglade, but the State Of The Heart Festival was presented on the usual date .

In 2010 the festival took place again from July 16-17. The following bands appeared among others: Die Fantastischen Vier , Faith No More , Gossip , The Cranberries , Therapy? , New Model Army

The Forestglade era ended with the 2012 festival. At this concert were, among others, Therapy? , Billy Idol and Incubus .
