Nuke Festival 2015

The Nuke Festival was an Austrian music festival . From 1999 to 2009 it was organized by the concert agencies Musicnet and Novamusic ( Nova Rock , Frequency ); after a break of several years, it was re-launched once in 2015 by the music agency Arcadia in Graz .

The first edition took place in front of 3,000 visitors on the site of the Zwentendorf nuclear power plant , which never went into operation - where the name is derived from - and lasted 14 hours. From 2003 there were several changes of location.

The musical range of the festival should be secured by a diverse invitation policy. In 2005, for example, Coldplay , Seeed and Kosheen were among the artists. At that time there were already 20,000 visitors.

In 2006 the Pixies , Manu Chao , The Strokes , The Streets , the Stereo MCs and Patrice appeared. A new record of almost 30,000 visitors was to be established.

Also in 2007 the NUKE Festival took place on July 13th and 14th on the grounds of the VAZ St. Pölten. A new visitor record of 35,000 visitors was counted. The Fantastic Four and Silver Moon appeared among others .

In 2008 around 30,000 fans were attracted to St. Pölten to see the Sons of Mannheim , Lenny Kravitz , Fettes Brot and The Chemical Brothers, among others.

In 2009 the Nuke took place at the festival site in Wiesen (Burgenland), where u. a. The Two Days a Week and the Urban Art Forms Festival also find their venue.

There was no Nuke Festival between 2010 and 2014. In 2015 there was a new one-day festival in Graz with Seeed , Cro and Bilderbuch among others . In 2016, the announced repetition was canceled at short notice.
