Iriepathie is an Austrian reggae group . It consists of the two brothers "Professa" and "Syrix".
Professa is the lead singer and label manager; Syrix backing vocalist and producer. The two brothers also run their own record label called Irievibrations Records , whose studio is located in Vienna - songs are also recorded in Jamaica with internationally renowned artists from the reggae scene. The label also includes "Tomic" (management) and "Matty-Dread" (sound system).
Band history
The group was founded in Lienz in 2000 . In 2001 the debut single "Ganjaman" was released; The first EP more questions than answers followed in 2003 . In the same year, with the single Analoge Rasta , which made it into the Top 100 of the FM4 charts, the level of public awareness rose. In 2004 they played at a well-known reggae festival , the Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay , Jamaica . The first official album Reggaestration followed in 2005. In 2006 they won the largest Austrian music award Amadeus in the FM4 Alternative category .
Sound
Their sound is very much in the direction of roots reggae. However, some songs are clearly assigned to dancehall.
