Illiasu Shilla Alhassan (born October 26, 1982 in Tema ) is a Ghanaian football player .
Club career
The 1.88 m tall central defender started playing football at Real Republicans in Ghana . He remained loyal to his youth club until 2003, before he moved to the King Faisal Babes in Kumasi . With the club he played in the CAF Champions League for two years in a row . During the 2005/06 season he moved to the Ghanaian top club Asante Kotoko .
In 2005 Shilla was invited by the Ghanaian ex-national coach Ralf Zumdick , now co-trainer at Hamburger SV , to a trial training at HSV. There he did not know how to convince decisively. The World Cup participant was also invited to a trial training session at Arsenal in London .
However, Shilla did not move to either club, but signed with the Russian Premier League club Saturn Ramenskoye in 2006 . In spring 2009 he ended his career due to a sports disability. On January 4, 2011, he announced his comeback at Real Tamale United . After he got back to his old performance, he got an offer from the Armenian first division club Impulse Dilijan in the summer of 2011 and signed for the club.
National team career
Shilla Illiasu has played ten times in the Ghanaian national soccer team , including four games at the 2006 World Cup in Germany . After the group game against Italy he ousted Samuel Kuffour from the starting team and impressed with good performances.
Private
His brother Shilla Alhassan is also a professional footballer and briefly played with him at Real Tamale United.
