Jahcoustix (actually Dominik Haas ; * 4. October 1978 in Bonn ) is a German reggae - musician .

Life

As the son of a German diplomat, he lived in Mexico, Liberia, Bonn, New York, Kenya and Egypt, where he graduated from high school in 1998. He then moved to Munich and completed a three-year apprenticeship as an audiovisual music clerk at Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG). After working for a year at BMG, Dominik Haas decided to devote himself exclusively to music and initially played a mixture of reggae and jazz with friends .

After the project was terminated, he joined the bands Headcornerstone and Dubious Neighborhood as a background singer. He has been the singer for Dubious Neighborhood since 2001 and plays his own songs with this band . In 2003/2004 Jahcoustix was on tour with Mellow Mark and Patrice and in 2003 released his first solo album Colourblind . In March 2009, Jahcoustix's band Dubious Neighborhood broke up. In the 2010s, Jahcoustix relocated from Munich to Berlin, performed at home and abroad and released several CDs.
