Headcornerstone

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Headcornerstone is an association of musicians who are mainly active in the Munich area , which was founded in 1996 under the name Cornerstone , and combines influences from roots reggae to modern dancehall and raggas styles. The founding members include a. Likkle Lion and Conscious Fiyah.

The group has existed in its current composition since 2000. Members include Moritz "Da Baron" (bass), Flo (keyboard), Mathias (drums), Miki (guitar), Highna "Conscious Fiyah" (vocals), Julia "Da Sista "(vocals), Uli (guitar), Stefan (trumpet) and Hannes (saxophone).

In their lyrics, the band addresses social grievances, among other things, but also introduces spiritual lyrics and thus joins the " Conscious Reggae " tradition. The main focus here is on tolerance. In 2004, the designer Julian R. Wagner created the video for the song "Total Control", which was funded by the European Union through the Youth Action Program. In the clip , the band denounces the "de-individualization" of people in a monitored state.

Moritz von Korff completed his training as a sound engineer at the Akademie Deutsche POP in 2003 , founded his own label Oneness Records and is the bass player for the French music group Dub Incorporation . He also worked with artists such as Uwe Kaa , Umberto Echo, Sara Lugo and Mark Wonder.

Since November 2005, Headcornerstone has had an indefinite pause in musical collaboration.

Conscious Fiyah has been a solo artist since 2006 - as has Likkle Lion before him. Furthermore, both artists are still on the road with their Japhet sound system over and over again.
