Uwe Kaa (bourgeois Uwe Kobler ; born December 27, 1977 in Passau ) is a German-speaking rapper , reggae singer and musician from Munich .

Act

From 1995 to 2000 Kaa worked as a rapper for the Passau hip-hop group Reim In da Tube . Together with Doc Holiday he founded the "Roots Rockers Soundsystem" in 1998, where he worked as a singer , songwriter and disc jockey (DJ). The first artist release under the pseudonym "Roots Rockers" appeared in 2001 ( Babylon - on the 7 "Selection of the same name on Orange Hill). This was followed by Für´n Arsch (2002) - including a music video and an appearance on VIVA Interaktiv - and Blade feat Mystic Dan (2003).

In 2004 Uwe Kaa released the album Tanzen & Schrei'n on SonyBMG / Chet Records - also under the name "Roots Rockers" . The scene hits Wunderschön (2004), for which there was also a music video, as well as the title track of the album and the riddim selection of the same name ( Tanzen & Schrei'n , 2005) were released as single releases .

In 2006 Uwe Kaa published Dancehall Story on Dave Kelly's 85 Riddim , based on Baby Chams Ghetto Story . The song summarized the events and fears of the future of the still young, German-speaking reggae scene in one song and achieved cult status that continues to this day. At this time, his stage name Uwe Kaa gradually began to displace the previously used sound system pseudonym “Roots Rockers” for his artist releases.

In 2006 a remix of the Dancehall story was released and in 2007 with a high grade contribution to the "Caribbean Riddim" by Irievibrations Records .

In April 2008 Uwe Kaa published Nie Enough, a cooperation with the Swiss reggae singer Phenomden . Tut Gut , a track from the compilation album Work Off Riddim (Irievibrations Records), was also released in 2008 .

Uwe Kaas solo debut album Endlich Single was released on October 31, 2008, the single Girlfriend on November 14, 2008 on Irievibrations Records / Groove Attack .

On April 15, 2011 his second solo album Danebenbenehmen was released on Irievibrations Records / Groove Attack. The single Unter'm Strich was released on April 1st, 2011. Uwe Kaa made a video for the song “ Visiting” , the content of which was largely provided by Greenpeace .

Uwe Kaa was on the road with the One Drop Band until 2015 and played a tour through Indonesia in January / February 2012, organized by the Goethe Institute there .

In June 2013 Uwe Kaa released the first ever German-Indonesian-language song together with the Indonesian reggae star Ras Muhamad. Aku Cinta (Indonesia) is a thanks to the 2012 Indonesia tour and is available as a free download. Kaa shot a music video with Muhamad for the song in Jakarta, which has now been viewed over a million times on YouTube. The world premiere of the play took place on September 14, 2013 in the Rolling Stone Café in Jakarta.

On October 17th, 2014, Uwe Kaa's third solo album, Eine Liebe, was released. On this long player he goes back to his hip-hop roots and raps more again. Today Kaa plays his concerts mostly with a DJ, sound system or solo.

In civil life he works as a freelance copywriter , marketing consultant and mediator .
