The Akademie Deutsche POP is a private academy for training and further education.

history

In 1989, Rüdiger J. Veith began offering instrumental, sound and composition lessons as well as band coaching with his “Musikforum Rüdiger J. Veith”. In 1994, several independent companies in the music and media industry, including the Musikforum Rüdiger J. Veith and Dorian Gray Studios, merged to form the music support group. For the first time, the group of companies offered vocational training and further education in the fields of sound, composition and management, called msg academy for short .

In 2004, the msg Academy was renamed Deutsche POP . The Bavarian Minister of State Erwin Huber gave the official starting shot under the motto “Create a creative career” . The POP stands for German POP not for the pop music , but is where trained emblematic of the popular arts and popular professions at the institute. This was followed by openings in Munich, Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. From 2011 to 2012 the locations in Nuremberg, Vienna, Hanover, Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main and Bremen were added.

Since 2014 the Akademie Deutsche POP has been offering bachelor's degrees in collaboration with the University of West London . In 2015 another location opened in Leipzig and in 2016 the 12th academy location followed with the campus in Bochum. In 2016, the first non-German-speaking location opened in Amsterdam under the international name United POP . In 2017, the academy opened another location in Germany in Dresden and the second international campus started in Melbourne in 2018. In 2019, more locations will open in Jakarta, Beijing, Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Ljubljana and Madrid.

These departments include over 30 training and study courses, which are made up of 60 individually combinable individual courses. In cooperation with the University of West London , some practical training courses can also be completed with a bachelor's degree.

The study period is 30 months full-time and up to 48 months part-time. With a fast track degree, the study period can be shortened to 24 months through intensive occupancy.

The Bachelor program is validated by the University of West London (UWL) and meets the requirements of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and the qualifications framework of the Higher Education Area. The bachelor's degree is awarded under British higher education law. After examining individual cases, it is therefore possible to study without an Abitur / Matura. As an accredited British university in Germany, the UWL has the status "H +" and is therefore to be regarded as a university. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive 360 ​​credit points, which correspond to 180 ECTS.

The full-time study period is 12 to 24 months, depending on the course. In part-time, the maximum period of study is 48 months and can be completed while working.

Depending on the location, classes are held in the local language or in English. Selected individual courses can also be taken as online courses.

advancement

Deutsche POP is an approved training provider under labor promotion law and certified by the Well Done Certification Society. Training courses can be funded by employment agencies, the armed forces, pension insurances, miners' associations or other providers and are certified for funding in accordance with SGB III according to AZAV.
