Sara Lugo

Sara Lugo (born November 5, 1987 near Schweinfurt ) is a German reggae singer with Puerto Rican roots.

Live and act

Lugo comes from a musical family; her brother Tom Lugo is the singer of the reggae band Jamaram . She grew up in the Munich area and received piano lessons from Lionel Wharton and singing lessons from Bennie Gilet. She had her first appearances as a background singer in the band Jamaram; there were guest appearances with Jahcoustix and Ganjaman , then with Tarrus Riley , Chuck Fender and Ray Darwin . Own concerts followed.

In 2005 dub producer Umberto Echo recorded a track with her for the Quadro Nuevo remix CD he produced ; his first EP with four songs by Lugo was released in 2009 on the Munich label Oneness Records . In 2011 her debut album What About Love was released on the Soulfire Artists label. Her second album, Hit Me With Music , also features songs about violence and racism. In 2016 the album Sara Lugo and Friends was released , on which she worked with numerous guest musicians such as Protoje , Cali P , Lutan Fyah , Ras Muhammad and Jah9 . Swing Ting followed in 2017 with the Jazzrausch Bigband .
