Jah9 (civil: Janine Elizabeth Cunningham ; born May 23, 1983 in Montego Bay ) is a Jamaican reggae singer.

Life

She was born on May 23, 1983 in Montego Bay, St. James. Her father was a Baptist minister and her mother a teacher and social worker. Young Janine Elizabeth Cunningham spent much of her childhood in the town of Falmouth , Trelawny.

She studied psychology , personal development , criminology and philosophy .

In February 2013, Jah9 released her debut album New Name after various single releases in the years before , which was successful in Jamaica. September 2016 the second album 9 followed ( VP Records / Steam Chalice Records).

In Jamaica, Jah9 is also known as a yoga teacher.
