Larry Michael Hankin (born August 31, 1940 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

Life

Hankin has appeared in more than 150 film and television productions since 1966. Previously completed a degree in industrial design at Syracuse University . Afterwards he was active as a theater actor, which he is to this day. In addition, he has been in front of the camera for a total of more than 180 film and television productions since 1966, although he was usually limited to supporting roles in his career. He starred in several films by director John Hughes .

In 1979, Hankin made his debut as a director and screenwriter and directed the short film Solly's Diner . For this he was at the Oscars 1980 in the category Best Short Film for the Oscar nominated. In the 2000s, further short films followed, for which he also took over the direction, wrote scripts and also worked as a producer. In 2006 he was involved in the screenplay for the comedy film Verbraten und Sellers .
