Quadro Nuevo is an acoustic quartet founded in 1996 that works in the fields of world music and jazz.

history

The quartet was founded in January 1996. The music style is described by the band as a mixture of (quote Quadro Nuevo) " Tango , Valse Musette , Flamenco , lovingly dusted film music and an almost faded Italy ". The original line-up included guitarist Robert Wolf, saxophonist Mulo Francel , bassist DD Lowka and accordionist Heinz-Ludger Jeromin, who has been replaced by Andreas Hinterseher since Canzone della Strada (2002). The quartet has played at numerous renowned festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival , the Burghausen International Jazz Week , the Rheingau Music Festival and the Palatia jazz . So far the band has given around 1500 concerts worldwide.

In 2008 she provided the soundtrack for the documentary film Two half lives are not a whole by Servet Ahmet Golbol .

Since November 2008 the guitarist Robert Wolf was paraplegic from the neck down after a traffic accident through no fault of his own with the band bus. In April 2015 he died of the long-term effects of the accident.

Since Robert Wolf's accident, the harpist Evelyn Huber has been playing in the group that had played as a duo with Mulo Francel for many years. Since 2014, the quartet has occasionally been reinforced by guest musician Chris Gall on the piano.
