The monocerotids are a meteor shower with a low ZHR of 2 meteors per hour. Comet P / Mellish is listed as the mother comet of this current .
At the beginning of activity on November 27th, the radiant is in the constellation Orion , just east of the star Beteigeuze . The radian then shifts approx. 1 degree east per day. On the day of the maximum, the radiant is in the northern area of the constellation Monoceros .
