Jimi Tenor (* 27. March 1965 in Lahti , Finland as Lassi Lehto ) is a Finnish musician ( composer , multi-instrumentalist ) and director .
history
He borrowed his stage name from the child star Jimmy Osmond and the tenor saxophone .
After initially releasing a few albums with the industrial band Jimi Tenor and his Shamans , he left Finland and lived in Berlin and New York City .
His first solo album Sähkomies ( Electrician ), which was later re-released on Warp Records label , contained the successful single Take Me Baby , which became a club hit in 1994 and is considered a classic in the techno music scene.
Tenor has been running the Sähkö sub-label Puu in collaboration with Tommi Grönlund since 1994 , which is dedicated to the genres of house , easy listening and jazz .
While his early works are more likely to be attributed to electronic music, Tenor turned more towards jazz from 1997 onwards .
