Finnish music charts

The Finnish single charts (Finnish: Suomen virallinen lista ) are a weekly survey of the current best-selling music titles. They are the most important single charts in Finland . The charts are published by IFPI Finland , an organization consisting of 23 recording companies and representing the music industry in Finland.

history

The first charts were introduced in 1951. In January 1991 the Yle radio station Radiomafia started compiling the first weekly charts in Finland called Radiomafian lista, which was broadcast on the radio every Sunday. Radiomafian lista entered the official Finnish charts in January 1994 after a partnership with Suomen Ääni- ja kuvatallennetuottajat (ÄKT), today's Musiikkituottajat - IFPI Finland . Since 1994 IFPI Finland has provided the country's official music charts, Suomen virallinen lista.

Yleisradio was responsible for broadcasting the charts until 2009. The radio charts are currently running on Sundays on Radio Rock and Radio Aalto.

The charts compiled by Musiikkituottajat - IFPI Finland are divided into the following reports:

  • Top 50 albums
  • Official single top 20
  • Top 10 Music DVDs

In addition, charts are kept that track the digital sales of songs and are compiled by the Official Charts Company .
