Third World is a Jamaican reggae band. Their music combines influences from funk , soul and disco .
history
Third World was founded in 1973 by keyboardist Michael "Ibo" Cooper and guitarist Stephen "Cat" Coore. Their first album entitled Third World, on which a woman sang along, was released in 1976. The band had their first international success with the song Now That We Found Love on Journey To Addis (1978), their third studio album. The single was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. With this huge success, the band attracted the attention of Stevie Wonder , who then worked with them.
