Guitar & Bass is a monthly magazine for guitarists and bassists aimed at amateur and semi-professional musicians as well as professional musicians . From the first edition in March 1986 - at that time still under the title Musicians  - a readership with a uniform age structure has developed, covering an age range from approx. 13 to 65 years. Today, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Guitar & Bass is, according to the IVW examination, the musicians' magazine with the greatest circulation.

Content

The magazine offers reports on and interviews with musicians from a wide variety of genres - usually instrumentalists from the electric rock, blues, jazz and pop fields - as well as factual articles and articles on topics such as instrument production and development and history. The idea of rare vintage and bizarre cult instruments and their origins has become a further focus in recent years. In addition, theoretical and practical skills are taught in workshops, and modifications and repairs to instruments are discussed. One focus of each issue is the numerous test reports in which new instruments ( guitars , basses and amplifiers ) and various peripheral devices (effects units, "recording" accessories, etc.) are presented, tested and evaluated by specialist authors.
