Ibanez
Ibanez ([ ˈibæˌnəz ], also [ ˈaɪbæˌnəz ]) is a brand of the Japanese company Hoshino Gakki for guitars , bass guitars and effects devices . The manufacturer of the guitars, however, is mainly the Fujigen company in Matsumoto ( Nagano prefecture ), which also produces fenders in Japan.
history
The Ibanez brand is owned by the Hoshino Gakki company and developed like this: In 1929 guitars were imported to Japan from the workshop of the Spanish guitar maker Salvador Ibáñez é Hijos. In 1935, Hoshino Gakki began making string instruments himself under the name Ibanez Salvador in Nagoya. The brand name was later shortened to Ibanez .
In the 1960s, copies of other successful producers such as the Fender Jazzmaster were made under the Ibanez name . The company's first own model was the Ibanez Iceman .
In 1987 Hoshino Gakki and Steve Vai developed the " JEM " and the "Universe", the latter a seven-string electric guitar with an additional low B-string.
The price spectrum of the instruments ranges from entry-level guitars to top class. The Wizard necks, which are the thinnest of their kind to date, belong to the upper class in musical instrument making . The Prestige series is currently the top category. The instruments are largely made by hand and are made of high-quality woods with pickups and the like. a. made by DiMarzio , Seymour Duncan or EMG , as well as with better hardware.
Guitars
Some models now have cult status, such as the instruments from the Concord series, Artcore series or the guitars from the Roadstar, S and RG series . Ibanez has two custom shops, one in Japan and one in the US. These instruments are of high quality and handcrafted in smaller editions.
