Christine McVie
Christine McVie , née Christine Anne Perfect (born July 12, 1943 in Greenodd near Bouth, Lancashire , now Cumbria , England ) is a British musician, singer and songwriter.
Career
Christine McVie celebrated her first successes as a singer with the group Chicken Shack in the 1960s. She married bassist John McVie , who played for Fleetwood Mac , and joined the group herself in 1970. In the same year she released a first solo album under her maiden name. In 1968 she had already played Mr. Wonderful Keyboard on the Fleetwood Mac album , although she was still a member of Chicken Shack. Christine McVie wrote the first hit Fleetwood Mac had in the US. Over My Head was released in 1975 and reached the 20th place on the singles chart.
In 1977 her marriage to John McVie was divorced.
From 1984 she released further solo records, which, however, could not build on the success of Fleetwood Mac. After all, she came in at number 10 with Got a Hold on Me in 1984 in the USA and at number 30 with Love Will Show Us How that same year .
In 1995 she decided to leave Fleetwood Mac, but was again on the comeback CD and American tour The Dance in 1998. In 2003 she said goodbye to the group completely, even before the production of the last CD Say You Will , on which she only took part as a guest. In 2004 she released her third solo CD, In the Meantime, after 1970 and 1984.
After she had twice been a guest at Fleetwood Mac gigs in the fall of 2013, it was announced in early 2014 that Christine McVie would rejoin the band.
In 2017 the album Lindsey Buckingham / Christine McVie was released , on which she worked with Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham .
