Stan Webb's Chicken Shack is a British blues oriented rock band .

history

Founded in 1965, the line-up changed several times. Band members when recording the first album were Stan Webb (guitar and vocals), Andy Silvester (bass), Dave Bidwell (drums) and Christine Perfect (piano and vocals). After concerts in the Hamburg Star Club , the group, which was probably named after Willie Dixon's song "Chicken Shack", had its first major appearance in 1967 at the National Jazz and Blues Festival . Chicken Shack is still active today in changing line-ups and with a few interruptions, only Stan Webb has always been part of the band since the beginning. Her greatest success was the 1969 single I'd Rather Go Blind (written by Ellington Jordan and Bill Foster) with Christine Perfect as the singer; she married John McVie from Fleetwood Mac , switched to this group and so the Chicken Shack recording can also be found on Fleetwood Mac compilations .

At his concerts, Stan Webb often went between the audience with a guitar cable up to 60 meters long.
