biography

Sally Oldfield formed the folk duo The Sallyangie with her brother Mike in 1967 . With Children of the Sun an album of the duo was released.

Her music, which she mostly writes herself, is somewhere between folk and new age . Occasionally, Celtic motifs are incorporated, such as those used later by Enya or Loreena McKennitt .

Her solo career began in 1978 with the album Water Bearer and the single Mirrors . The next two LPs and the pieces Celebration and Mandala were also successful . Some of her later albums were produced in Germany and are mainstream in terms of music and content. More recently, Sally Oldfield has been focusing more on the Anglo-American region and shifting her image towards esotericism .
