Hans Wiesen
Hans Wiesen (born May 7, 1936 in Braunschweig ; † November 14, 2013 in Neumünster ) was a German agricultural engineer and politician ( SPD ).
From 1988 to 1998 he was Minister of Agriculture of Schleswig-Holstein .
Life and work
After graduating from high school, Wiesen completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural assistant and a state-certified farmer . He then worked as an administrator on large farms.
Hans Wiesen was married and had one child. Since 1960 he was a member of the Kiel Corps Palaiomarchia-Masovia .
Political party
Hans Wiesen was a member of the SPD state executive in Schleswig-Holstein from 1973 to 1975 and from 1977 to 1998. From 1975 to 1981 he was chairman of the SPD district association Rendsburg-Eckernförde .
MP
Hans Wiesen was a member of the Bordesholm municipal council from 1970 to 1975 and was also a member of the district council of the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district from 1974 to 1978 .
From 1975 to 1998 he was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein .
Public offices
After the state elections in 1988, Wiesen was appointed Minister for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to the state government of Schleswig-Holstein led by Prime Minister Björn Engholm on May 31, 1988 . He kept this office under his successor Heide Simonis . Since the SPD had lost its absolute majority in the state elections in 1996 and has now entered into a coalition with Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , which claimed forestry from Wiesen's department, Wiesen officiated as Minister for Rural Areas, Agriculture and Food from May 22, 1996 and tourism. On May 5, 1998, he resigned from the state government for reasons of age.
