Tim Owens (2012)

Tim "Ripper" Owens (born September 13, 1967 in Akron , Ohio ) is an American metal singer .

Career

Owens began his career in the Judas Priest - cover band "British Steel" and also sang at Brainicide and Winters Bane . In 1997 he took over the position of singer with Judas Priest.

After original singer Rob Halford returned in 2003 , Owens switched to Iced Earth , whose longtime singer Matt Barlow had recently left the band. He also founded his own band Beyond Fear .

On December 11, 2007, Jon Schaffer announced that Matt Barlow would return as singer with Iced Earth and Owens is leaving the band. At the end of February 2008 he was introduced as the new singer by Yngwie Malmsteen . In 2009 he formed an "all-star" band called Charred Walls of the Damned . In 2011 he became the singer of the Dio Disciples .
