Scott Travis (born September 6, 1961 in Norfolk , Virginia ) is the drummer of the British heavy metal band Judas Priest and the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy .

As a young drummer he went to California in the early 1980s and played in various local bands such as Hawk, later he played in bands such as Racer X with Paul Gilbert and formed the band Saints and Sinners together with John Corabi , John Alderete and Bruce Bouillet . The band received a record deal, but Travis no longer took part in the recording of their debut album because he replaced Dave Holland as drummer for Judas Priest. After his departure, Saints and Sinners changed their name to The Scream .

Travis made his record debut with Judas Priest on the album Painkiller . During his time with Judas Priest he was the drummer for the albums of Racer X, after Rob Halford's departure from Judas Priest he also recorded two more albums with his new band Fight .

His style is characterized by his fast double bass technique, with which he can reach enormous speeds. He was also the first American drummer for Judas Priest.
