Charred Walls of the Damned is an American heavy metal - band consisting of the musicians Richard Christy , Steve DiGiorgio , Tim "Ripper" Owens and Jason Suecof there. Cristy formed the band after a five-year absence from the metal scene, having been on the Howard Stern Show since July 2004 .

history

When Iced Earth were on the Glorious Burden Tour in 2004 , drummer Richard Christy decided to leave the band. He became one of the ten finalists in "Get John's Job" - a contest on the Howard Stern Show to replace the resigned "Stuttering John" Melendez. He said that he would have regretted it "every day of his life" if he had not attended. Christy eventually won the contest with 30% of the vote.

Eventually he announced his return from his five-year absence from the music business with the formation of Charred Walls of the Damned . The name was declared on May 20, 2009. It comes from a series of joke calls he and Sal Governale made at a traditional show on a Christian radio station. In response to the reactions, the moderator described how he prayed for the interlocutors: "saving their soul to be saved by God's grace ... not in the devil's hell where you'd be putting your nails in the charred walls of the damned" .

The first single, "Ghost Town", was released on December 1, 2009.
