Robert Trujillo (pronunciation: [ tɾu'xiʎo ]; actually Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz ; born October 23, 1964 in Santa Monica , California ) is the bass player for the American metal band Metallica . He grew up in Culver City , California, is married with two children.

In the late 1980s he played in the band Suicidal Tendencies , and in the mid-1990s he moved to Ozzy Osbourne . Trujillo also played for Infectious Grooves and Black Label Society , and also he's on Jerry Cantrell Album second Degradation Trip alongside Faith No More - drummer Mike Bordin heard.

After Jason Newsted left Metallica, producer Bob Rock recorded the bass parts on the St. Anger album. Shortly before the release of this album in spring 2003, Trujillo became the fourth bass player in the band's history.

Career

Trujillo played in several local bands before joining Suicidal Tendencies in 1989. He replaced the band's fourth bassist, Bob Heathcote . He was also responsible for funk influences, which were most pronounced on the albums Lights… Camera… Revolution! and The Art of Rebellion can be heard. Trujillo introduced Mike Muir to funk and the two then formed the band Infectious Grooves . From the late 1990s onwards, Trujillo was a member of Ozzy Osbourne's Band and became the subject of controversy because, at Osbourne's will, he re-recorded Bob Daisley's bass tracks for the re-releases of Osbourne's Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman albums as Daisley claimed not to get decent royalties. This has been criticized because there were no stickers on the albums telling people they weren't buying originals.
