Brooks Wackerman (born February 15, 1977 ) is an American drummer . He is best known as the drummer of the American punk band Bad Religion and is currently the drummer of the metal band Avenged Sevenfold .

Private

He is the younger brother of Chad Wackerman and attended Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos , California . In 1990 he started playing the drums and was active in his school's jazz band from 1991 to 1995. He lives in Los Angeles , is married and has a family.

Career

Wackerman became the drummer in 1991 in the band Bad4Good, founded by Steve Vai . After they recorded the album Refugee and had no great commercial success with it, the band broke up in 1992.

Brooks played with Infectious Grooves from 1993 and recorded the album Groove Family Cyco with the funk metal band in 1994 . Wackerman was the band's drummer until 2000 and recorded their last album Mas Borracho that year .

In 1997, Wackerman became the drummer for Suicidal Tendencies . He had previously played in Infectious Grooves with singer Mike Muir . In 1998 the band released the EP Six the Hard Way , followed by the album Freedumb in 1999 . In 2000, Free Your Soul And Save My Mind, the band's last album so far, followed, which then took a break.

In the meantime, Wackerman took the album Look What I Almost Stepped In with the Vandals in 2000 and acted as a replacement for Josh Freese .

His main band became Bad Religion in 2001 . With Bad Religion, Wackerman recorded five studio albums ( The Process of Belief , The Empire Strikes First , New Maps of Hell , The Dissent of Man and True North ) and can be seen on two live DVDs.

Brooks played drums for two songs on Avril Lavigne's 2004 album Under My Skin ("Nobody's Home" and "Together"). Can also be heard he's on the album Untitled by Korn . He has also been the drummer for Kidneys since 2003 and has been with The Innocent since 2007 . Since 2008 he has been a member of Fear and the Nervous System , the second band of Korn guitarist James Shaffer .

Wackerman is active as a singer in the band Hot Potty , which was founded in 2003 . The group released the album One Step Closer To The Broadway in 2003.

Brooks Wackerman was the drummer on a tour of Tenacious D from 2006-2007 . Here he took the pseudonym "Colonel Sanders".

On November 4, 2015, the American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold announced that Wackerman would take the place behind the drums and succeed "The Rev", who died in 2009. He played again at the Rock am Ring 2012 festival on June 2, 2012 with Tenacious D. He also played drums with Tenacious D on the European tour in autumn 2012.

In 2013 he jumped in for Travis Barker on blink-182's Australian tour, where they played the Soundwave Festival and several sideshow shows.
