The Gray Race is the ninth studio album by the American punk rock band Bad Religion . It was released on Atlantic Records in February 1996 .
history
The Gray Race was recorded in New York City in the fall of 1995 . The producer was Ric Ocasek , who also worked for Weezer and Bad Brains . On this album for the first time not guitarist Brett Gurewitz played , but Brian Baker , who joined Stranger Than Fiction during the tour . The record was released for the first time since the debut LP How Could Hell Be Any Worse? really recorded together, partly because of the cost, and partly to create a feeling of unity after Gurewitz's departure. All songs were written by Greg Graffin , the band's remaining other songwriter, Brian Baker co-wrote four songs.
The first two singles, A Walk and Punk Rock Song in particular, were quite successful and the associated videos were played on music television. The album itself reached number 11 in Germany and number 56 in the USA.
