Generator is the sixth studio album by the American punk rock band Bad Religion . It was released on Epitaph Records in March 1992 . The album marks a transition from the strict punk rock style of its three predecessors. Even if some songs stay true to the fast punk rock typical of the band, others are much slower ("Two Babies In The Dark", "The Answer") and there are influences from the emerging genres of noise rock ("Generator") or . Grunge ("Atomic Garden"). This brief experimental phase of the band was also to shape the follow-up Recipe For Hate , before they returned to the typical style of Bad Religion with the major label debut Stranger Than Fiction .

history

Launched by the band self-produced album was already in May 1991 in Los Angeles , but was released only in March 1992, as the band with the album artwork and the packaging was not satisfied. The album was almost recorded live within 10 days. Bobby Schayer was first heard on drums after Pete Finestone left the band on the previous tour.

A remastered version of the album was released on April 6, 2004.

The album reached number 49 in Germany.
