Suicidal for Life is the seventh studio album by the American band Suicidal Tendencies . It was released in June 1994 by Epic Records / Sony Music .

Origin and style

Suicidal for Life , recorded in Hollywood and Santa Monica with producer Paul Northfield , was released about a year after the first album was re-released under the name Still Cyco After All These Years . It was the last album before the band broke up and thus the last with guitarist Rocky George and bassist Robert Trujillo and the only one with drummer Jimmy DeGrasso . The record was created a little faster than the previous studio album The Art of Rebellion . Lyrically, the band went to work more aggressively than their predecessor: the first four tracks after the intro contain the word fuck in the title. The release was brought forward because the band had received the offer to accompany Metallica in the USA in the summer of 1994 .

reception

Allmusic's Eduardo Rivadavia described the album as "different, but not necessarily great music". The resolution was foreseeable. He awarded 1.5 out of five stars. Uwe “Buffo” Schnädelbach wrote in Rock Hard , Suicidal Tendencies “hit the drum again. In a direct comparison with the really wacky The Art Of Rebellion predecessor, the quintet is much more straightforward this year, which definitely did the 13 pieces (including intros and outros) good. The album (again by sound tinkerer Paul Northfield) is teeming with great melodies and crazy ideas. ”He awarded nine out of ten points.
